VAC FUTURE LOCATION SURVEY

PERU:
The LaSalle County VAC is currently housed at 4231 Progress Blvd in PERU. (Leased)
This location is near the VA Clinic, Peru PADS, LaSalle VA Home, IL Cancer Center and more allowing for easy communication/appointment coordination/access to at-risk Veterans and physicians for assistance with claims.
Ease of access to our current site by I-80, Rt 251, Rt 6, and I-39.
There is easy parking / no armed security / no metal detectors and we have no other county entities in our suites.
NCAT rides are currently coordinated with clinic appointments, so if a Veteran has an appointment at the clinic, but needs to see VAC staff - our office makes that happen saving money for the Veteran/Office and making the Veteran only have to travel once.

OTTAWA:
County would like VAC to move back to Ottawa and be at a County “future building”
This would mean security/metal detectors/other entities that VAC would be housed with.
This would mean ease of access via Rt 6, I 80 only.
Parking would likely be shared. (future building)
No ease of access to clinic/staff/appointment coordination.
Not near any PADS shelter - homeless Veterans are the most at risk.
Increase use of funding for NCAT rides.
